"Riverwind" - A 100 mile canoe decent of the River Wye, Wales

The Wye Valley is one of Wale's most beautiful, rugged and untamed places. With its high forested valleys and deep rocky gorges, it's home to some of the U.K's rarest wildlife. Through its heart, runs the arterial route of a very special water source. At 134 miles The Wye River is the 5th longest river in the UK. As a preparation run of kit and techniques for the Yukon River descent that summer, Ian and canoeist Aylwin Racher paddled from the low gravelly upper reaches to the tidal regions at Chepstow in 5 days. This took place in early March 2016 and -3 degree weather.
